Kate and Alex's wedding day was a particularly emotion-filled day...following the loss of their baby boy Luca, Kate and Alex's big day had an added emphasis on loved ones who are no longer with us.Â
Their wedding celebrations had a nice, relaxed feel to the day, although understandably there were times when there wasn't a dry eye in the room!Â
Here's how the day unfolded...
Here's a few words from Kate and Alex about how they planned their big day...
We wanted our wedding to be relaxed, thoughtful and unforgettable to all invited and pay special attention to those who are no longer with us, especially our baby boy Luca William Lilley. We wanted a rustic barn wedding, we heard that the South Causey Inn were renovating an old horse arena into a barn and we booked the venue on the back of an artists sketch and their visions.
We discovered Bride and Groom Wedding Photography at a Wedding Fayre at Newcastle’s Biscuit Factory. We loved how chilled Dave was, he brought our ideas and his own to life and I think it shows in our photos. From the first initial meet all the way through to the handing over of our wedding album, we can’t recommend his service enough!
We have so many highlights of the day but the ones standing out are walking down the aisle with my dad seeing my future husband waiting for me and looking at me the way he looked at me when we first met, and my husbands speech was just perfect!
One of the funniest moments was when the registrar asked, "Does anyone know of any reason why these two persons may not get be joined in matrimony," and our 4 year old page boy shouted "I do!"Â His outburst after the question temporary brought the ceremony to a halt! :-)
If we could give advice to someone getting married, the only piece of advice we would recommend is to make sure you look back on it with nothing but happiness and look forward to your future together as Mr and Mrs :-)
